“The road to freedom is bordered with sunflowers.” – Martin Firrell
This exclusive series of drawings from NNNII is a tribute to Ukraine’s spirit in the face of war.
On the first day of the invasion, Ukrainian civilians placed sunflower seeds in the pockets of enemy soldiers, saying: "Even if you fall, something beautiful may grow from this land."
It was not just resistance — it was philosophy. A gesture of transformation: from violence to life, from death to bloom.
In summer, the sunflower fields rise again — tall, golden, and unbroken — a living reminder that even destruction cannot stop beauty from growing.
Innocence under watch A little girl sketches sunflowers under a clear blue sky. A black crow circles above — a whisper of warning. Even in beauty, the world holds its breath.
All proceeds from the sale of these artworks go toward creating a bilingual school for children from Slavic cultural backgrounds, supporting their language, identity, and future through education and art.
This is not just about remembering war. It’s about building peace — one sunflower, one child, one classroom at a time.
